This page outlines the privacy policy for various applications built by Seneca Online.

Seneca Online Website

In the future, Seneca Online Website (SOW) may introduce third-party tracking provided by Google and Facebook to better understand our site traffic, with the aim of better improving the user experience.

Share to Slack Chrome Extension

The Share to Slack (STS) application requires users to sign into their Slack account in order to use this service.

STS does not store any user data that is made available as a result of authenticating with the Slack API, including your public profile and email, as well as your organization’s public channels, private channels or individual users.

STS will not use or store your Slack related e-mail address for any promotional, marketing or other purposes.

STS will not occasionally reach out to you with offers or adverts for additional products or services.

STS will store your generated Slack token within the Google Chrome storage area via Storage Sync. This area is restricted to the STS application and your Google account. This token is used to send links to Slack on your behalf. Revoking STS access via the extension Settings, or deleting the extension, will remove this token from the storage area. You may read more about Chrome storage here.

STS may introduce Google Analytics into the Chrome Extension to better understand user behavior and/or issues within the application, so that we may make the experience better for all users.

Music Digest Slack Command

The Music Digest (MD) Slack command requires the following permissions in order to create playlists for your channel.

– channels:history permission: This permission allows MD to scan through the list of messages shared in a channel to identify Spotify song links. All other messages are ignored.

– command permission: This permission allows MD to add itself as a Slack slash command, allowing the app to respond when users type the command “/musicdigest”

MD does not store any info beyond the Slack team name/id, enterprise name/id and retrieved token, required to confirm your identity and successfully execute the slash command. Individual user info is not requested nor required to use the app.

MD will not reach out to you with offers or adverts for additional products or services.

MD playlists are private when generated and can only be viewed by those who have the direct URL, which is returned to you in the channel.

MD does not store email or user information associated with your Slack account upon authentication with our app.

MD does not store any message information retrieved while searching for music links in your channel.

MD may be uninstalled from your workplace at any time by visiting our app directory page here.
